Workbook: Rebozo Massage
The rebozo is a long, large piece of cloth that has been traditionally used for many purposes in Mexico and Guatemala, from wearing as a shawl to carrying babies and children.
It also has many uses during pregnancy and childbirth. The Rebozo Technique Unfolded is a guide for anyone who is curious about these techniques and wants to learn more about them. The first part of the book gives you background information on the history of the rebozo and also explains how and when it can be applied. You will learn what kind of cloth makes a good rebozo and how to take care of yours.
The second part includes instructions for 10 techniques to be used during pregnancy and childbirth, plus one to use after childbirth. Each section tells you the goal of that technique and how to prepare to use it, including how to set up and arrange the rebozo. You are then given a description of the technique, including variations when available. Included is a technique for using the rebozo with a birth ball.
Black and white line drawings illustrate each technique and the spiral-bound format makes it easy to keep the book open to a particular page.
