Elena Piantino

Elena Piantino is a Mexican-Swiss speaker and pioneer doula in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. She is also founder and director of Formation Doula Suisse, the first French-speaking doula training. She currently lives in Nyon, Switzerland, with her husband and three children. Her rich perspective in multicultural settings has given her unique insight into what makes parents feel empowered in their choices, responsibilities, and actions. She supports couples in creating a “true birth team” that will facilitate interactions with their midwives, medical practitioners, doulas, therapists, and their assistants. She knows that acknowledging and promoting the emotional evolution of couples while facilitating active decision-making, brings a smoother transition to parenting. She also teaches comfort measures that intertwine with this emotional labour support, facilitating physiology.

Elena has a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and is a certified doula through Birthworks International (2003), has trained as a midwife assistant and is an enthusiastic supporter of all things Spinning Babies and Midwifery Today.
