We’re extending our Photography Contest!
Good news—our Midwifery Today Photography Contest deadline has been extended through October. If you haven’t submitted your favorite birth or midwifery photos yet, now’s your chance! Share your work, celebrate the beauty of birth, and inspire our global community.
The photo contest starts on Labor Day this year! We want to celebrate the hard work and dedication of your clients births or even your own. Submissions are open to all birth workers, parents, midwives, doulas, nurses, photographers, if you witness the incredible work of birth, we want to see how you captured it. All submissions may be shared in the Midwifery Today publications and online with photo credit recognition.
Our Categories Are
Midwifery Today Overall Best Picture
(The best image from the entire competition, all images are eligible to compete for this prize)
Birth
(Show us the real, raw, powerful, tender, incredible moments as labor happens)
Pregnancy
(We want to see all of the bellies and soon-to-be’s glowing in their own light)
Newborn
(Some babies just beg for an Anne Geddes photo shoot, we can’t wait to see them!)
Postpartum
(Images capturing those hectic yet gentle, quiet yet chaotic first few weeks after birth)
Prizes
All winners will be featured in special announcements at the conferences in Minneapolis and Prague in 2026.

Overall Winner
Your image will be used as our front cover in an upcoming Midwifery Today magazine as we go back to print! You will also win a 1 year membership, valued at $300 and including discounts to our store and conferences, to Midwifery Today’s digital archive and community and all the perks that go with that. Seen across the web, your incredible picture will be on every channel of Midwifery Today around the world when you’re announced on our website, socials and more. Also a cash prize of $200 for the winning photo.

First Place Winners
A 6 month membership, valued at $150 and including discounts to our store and conferences to Midwifery Today, with full access to the archives, articles and knowledge as well as the other member perks. Your images will be announced across the web and social media as well as being used in future publications for articles etc. Also a cash prize of $100 for the winning photo in each category.
Second Prize Winners
A 3 month membership, valued at $75 and including discounts to our store and conferences, to Midwifery Today with all included perks and incredible wealth of information. An announcement across our socials and featured on our website as our second place winners. A cash prize of $75 for the winning photo in each category.
Third Prize Winners
A 1 month membership, valued at $25 and including discounts to our stores and conferences, to Midwifery Today with all included perks and incredible wealth of information. A cash prize of $50 for the winning photo in each category.
Honorable Mentions
One image from each category will be given a spotlight on our website and socials as well as a 1 month membership, valued at $25 and including discounts to our store and conferences, to Midwifery Today and all the perks thereof. A cash prize of $10 for the winning photo in each category.
Cost to Enter
There is a $5 per image entry fee for this contest. Your payment will be collected at the bottom of the submissions form. If you have any issues, please email photocontest@midwiferytoday.com
Deadlines
The annual Midwifery Today photo contest is running from September 1st through October 31st, 2025. No late submissions will be accepted. Voting by our expert judges will start on October 1st 2025 and finish November 30th, 2025. Honorable Mentions will be posted online for the community to vote on as well as our judges. Winners will be announced and prizes sent no later than December 15th, 2025.
