Carrie Sparrevohn has worked in women’s health care for 30 years. She was president of the California Association of Midwives from 2001 to 2006 and now chairs their Legislative Committee. She was recently appointed to the first Midwifery Advisory Council of the Medical Board of California. She is a founder and executive director of WITH WOMAN-Healthcare and Education, which is conducting the work in Uganda. Carrie is the mother of six children, ranging in age from 35 to 15, and the proud grandmother (Mam-Gu, Welsh for the grandmother who spoils you) of four. In her spare time she is working on a partially autobiographical novel. Look for it in bookstores in about 20 years!
