Issue 13
Spring 1990
Theme: Cross Cultural Birthing
Cross-cultural birthing is described in Issue 13, which takes us on a visit to the Peruvian Andes and to Tunisia, introduces us to various African tribes and gives us a warm look at midwifery in an Arab-American community in Detroit. Ketonuria, homebirth and breastfeeding through toddlerhood are other topics that get attention in this issue, as well as a playful look at midwifery in the 1980s. The author of this issue’s opinion piece maintains that some technology in birth is acceptable. What do you think?
